Under the Asbestos Abatement Regulations, 2020 (issued in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993), any company or individual that undertakes asbestos removal, repair, or maintenance must be a Registered Asbestos Contractor (RAC) with the Department of Employment and Labour (DEL).
