Identification of asbestos

With the new asbestos abatement regulations in place, it is now mandatory for each employer to inspect if asbestos-containing material is present at the workplace. With the more than 3000 product developed chances are very good that asbestos may be found.

A competent person will do a walkthrough and inspect to determine if asbestos-containing material is present. The inspector will look at the age of the building and identify possible areas where it could be found.

If no asbestos is present the competent person will have to issue an asbestos-free certificate. If asbestos is present samples will be taken and analyzed to determine what type of asbestos it is and what the risk of exposure is.
